I Am A Light House
I am a Light house . Torn by the weather and the waves. I'll keep my lamp lit, to worn the sailors on their way.
The waves crash around me.
The sand slips out to sea.
And the winds that blow remind me, what has been, and what will be.
I went to the beach with a friend, and took this picture. I used a wide-angeled lens, and did some post-editing in Lightroom.

Assignment #2- Scott
Here is my Photo for this weeks assignment. Not too creative, but it will work. I went back to the Seminary with Hannah and took a picture of this wreath with a reflection of the Chapel in the ornament. I used my telephoto so I wouldnt get much distortion. Where's Waldo?

Southeastern Seminary
Here are some of the shots I took today while I took a break from some school reading. I went to the seminary and took a couple shots of the Chapel and Administration building. There is alot of history in these building, and as you can tell the architecture is Beautiful. I plan to take some more pictures of the buildings once the magnolia trees are in full bloom.

Squirrel!
So I took this picture today while I was at the seminary trying to get some shots of the School. I loved how he was just sitting there like I didnt see him. The yellow leaves were a great addition to the shot as well. It provided some color. Also, I cant tell or not but doesnt it look like he is missing his arm, like it might be cut off at the elbow?? Im not totally sure, but it sure does seem like it.

At the Lake
So i took the day to shoot Hannah, cause we both had the day off. This is one of the pics but below is the link to the whole album that you can take a look at if you want. It was very funny.
It was quite bright out so there was some very hard light, and some hard shadows. One thing i tried, because i dont have a reflector, was i used a car windowshield sun reflector. You can tell in some of the shots when i used one. It made some great fill, but at the same time i had to set the timer than run over to hold the reflector while the shot was taking.

Photography Assign. - Technology (By Scott)
Here it is yall! My weekly assignment for : TECHNOLOGY!!! Where would I be, where would any of us be without our nifty Mac!!!
I set my tripod up about 8 feet behind my desk and fired off a shot with my laptop on the desk. I used a remote trigger because I knew i needed the second photo to match up almost exactly with the first shot to make it look like my Mac is see-through. I then removed the Mac trying to be as careful as I could without moving any cords. Than I fired off another shot, this time NO MAC. I imported both into Photoshop and did a little photo masking to the first photo revealing the second photo behind it. It was kind of fun. Granted the photo is nothing amazing, but it was cool manipulating the shots in Photoshop.
I actually used a flash on this shot because it was darker in the room than i wanted and i didnt want much artificial room light cause it provided too much 'orangeness' to the shot. Shutter speed was 2 seconds, ISO at 400 (due to the darkness of the room), and aperture at 32, i think, because i wanted most everything to be in focus, no bokeh this time ;)
It will work.

Just around the River Bend
Here is another one of a creek that runs along a walk path close to our house.
I left the shutter open for about 2 seconds to give it that smooth serene look to the water. A little post editing but not much.

Re-Birth
Today was my(Scott) first day back with a camera. Thanks to Shayne and his giving heart. It was really cloudy and dark today, but i just had to get outside and try to shoot something.
This photograph is of the fruit of a Sweet Gum tree. They are pretty prominent here, and blanket the ground with these prickley looking things. Funny though how they are called sweet gum, but I wouldnt place that thing anywhere near my mouth.
I positioned my self about 20 yards back and zoomed in with my 75-300mm lens. It gave me a really nice bokeh behind the image. The only post-editing i did was desaturate the image a little bit, while boasting the greens slightly. I also added a tiny vignette, as you can tell.
Man it feels great to be back out there!!!
